Started Atkins today; ouch my head hurts!

Hello headache! I guess I am really a carb junkie

I started w/out being well prepared food-wise. Today I have eaten 3 eggs, a slice of American cheese, and a piece of a marinated artichoke heart. Also, I had THREE cups of coffee with a little milk. So my carbs for the day got mostly used up by the milk. (Tomorrow I'm trying decaf).

We're heading to King Kullen in a little while, which I wish I had done before starting.

Tomorrow I'll have more variety and hopefully by Monday the headaches will be gone.

Hang in there....sugar withdrawal isn't fun.
I am going to have to go through it again since I have been slacking big time lately on the carbs. Still countin WW points but not watching carbs like I need to.

Watch out, I passed out at work the first time trying Atkins. Breakfast was the worst for me--I was so used to grabbing a breakfast bar or a bagel, so it was easier to go without anything (never had time to make bacon and eggs for breakfast!). Passed out in a meeting and learned my lesson...

Dont drink milk. Milk has alot of carbs and alot of sugar. If you need something to put in your coffee, try half and half or cream and Splenda instead of sugar or half and half. It tastes really good.

Can you use just a splash of skim milk or does that have carbs too?

I think skim milk has carbs

It sounds weird, but you should try to eat 'full fat' things.. milk, cheese, etc. (ie whole milk mozzarella instead of the part skim)

When they take out the fat and calories they usually supplement with sugar to still make it taste good.
