Re: started my registry...
anything and everything! rule of thumb is to register for twice as many gifts as giftgivers. people like to have options and not get stuck btw choosing froma $600 vaccuum or a $6 can opener
also, have different price ranges so people are comfortable
we did vases, frames, china, casual dinnerware, glassware, pots/pans, kitchen appliances

It may sound weird but when I did my BBB registry.. I typed in random names and looked at other peoples registries to see what they put on - and it gave me ideas for mine!
For instance if I type in my own name - 3 of me come up! so I went and saw what the other Jessica's of the world registered for lol

we had fun! its the one FREE thing of the wedding! you basically scan and shop for things then other people buy them!! how could that not be fun!?

Re: started my registry...
i say break it up in sessions ... that is what me and future hubby did! best decision we made. we also went when it was empty. zapped the things we knew we needed. did some research on the bigger end products.
best part of bed bath and beyond is if it is on your registry and you decide you dont want/need it you have TWO years to return it ... and you get the CASH!?!?
what could be better?

I can't wait to put more stuff on mine! I would do knives, pots and pans and lots of fun stuff you want but would never buy for yourself!!! Get a good cook to go with you... they can help alot!!! :)

Re: started my registry...
Is there a specific amount of time that you should do you registry before your shower/wedding?? I thought I was good with doing it right after the holidays since my wedding is in April but now I'm seeing people are doing it much sooner! Should I have made one already??? My wedding is in 8 months but I feel like no matter how far I get ahead in the planning I always forget about something!

you should just have it done before the shower invites go out...figure your shower will be sometime in feb/march (?) so just have it done before then... right after the holidays sounds good
ETA: we did our registry super early because ppl were asking about it for our eparty and we felt like we needed to give ppl the option to buy a gift as opposed to just give money....and who am i kidding? this was one of the things i was most looking forward to so it's not like anyone had to twist my arm haha

BBB has a registry checklist - it definately helped me when I was making mine!
