started registering

FH and I started our registry yesterday! It was so much fun. we only did a few things so I cant wait to keep going.

Did anyone who registered, register for bedroom linens? We figured we wouldnt yet bc we dont even have a house yet so how can we know what colors we would want. the store suggested we add some but we didnt.

We registered at Linens and things

next up...
BBB
Macy's
fortune off

where else?

I'm registering at Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and Macys. I think two is enough.

I'm registering at Macy's and target. Slight chance I might register at fortunoff.

Isn't it too early to register? I'm worried that some of the things that I pick now might not even be available then.

I agree with the above posters..you should only register at 3 stores the max..no more than that. Also, you really dont need to register at LNT and BBB because they sell pretty much the same thing...you want to pick three stores that sell diff. things

Be careful with Target. Some of my friends had a difficult time trying to return duplicate items from their registries.

thanks for the advice. i didnt even think about bbb and LNT being almost the same. I dont think it's too soon, we only registered for things we know we want and will need.

FH and I started a few weeks ago. We did BBB, Macys, and our travel agent for our honeymoon. We really didn't really register for much at macys, and I think Future in-laws already bought off our registry from there. So now, I think we are going to do Target. I am figuring three would be enough...

Re: started registering

I heard that you shouldnt register for linens or everyday appliances until 6 months before because the color of the linens are very seasonal and what you register for now, may not be available when the shower and wedding comes around. They say that you should register for fine china, silver and crystal first because they don't get discontinued as often and are more expensive so it takes longer to get those items. So you can get those big ticket items for birthdays, christmas, etc....HTH!!
