starting our house search tomorrow (updated)

just wanted to update you all on our search this weekend.

It went very well (so we thought) We saw about 10 houses. I can't believe how many people are looking... We went to one house and the broker showing it wasn't there yet. There were 10 other brokers with couples waiting to look at this house. We were lined up!!! Anyway WE fell in love with another house. It was an exclusive to our broker that had just been put on the market.

We went back on Sunday(with parents) and put a bid in on Monday. They counter offered. and then we accepted!!!!!! ( yeah!!) but wait ..after the deal was done, the sellers decided that they were putting the house up on impulse and our now are pulling it off the market!! People are weird!!!!

I was a little upset but I know we will find another one. This is a fustrating processs. I thought this was our dream house but i know now, it wasn't meant to be and we will probably find a bettter one out there.

So we are off this weekend again to look.

Good Luck! I know that when I first started looking I was shocked at the prices people were asking - so prepare yourself!!!

Thanks for the advice. We know what houses will cost in the area we are looking at and we are very prepared.

unfortunately a lot of the housing market on Long Isand is out of control. We know that already. If you want a house on Long island in Nassau county on the North shore, this is what you got to deal with.
