Starting solids

I just started solids. I give him a little cereal & now fruit twice a day. My questions are when do I introduce veggies? And do I give that along w/ the cereal? What about meats, when do you start that? Do I just give him different cereals for now?
Oh & he is 5 1/2 months

Re: Starting solids

Good for you for waiting to introduce solids. Many mothers do it very early which can lead to other health problems later in life. I started banannas after 3 weeks of no problems with cereal.

I introduced in this order rice cereal, barley cereal, bananna, sweet pototoes, avocado (her favorite), pears, peaches, green beans, mango, plums, mixed grain cereal.
I make all of her food. It is very easy to do. Let me know if you want any help.

Re: Starting solids

My son is 5 months old and has been on solids for a while. The Dr started him on rice cereal early because the formula just wasn't enough.
He's had rice cereal, carrots, bananas, applesace, and now oatmeal.

How do you make your own food??

Re: Starting solids

You can just mash a bananna
peel ,steam and put the carrots in a food processor/blender.

Super Baby Food book explains eat type of food and how to prepare it.
