Starting to call florists....

and the first one I spoke to said to call back 3-4 months before the wedding??? Is that normal? That seems to really be last minute...

no that is not normal unless you booked them.... 3-4 months would be to figure out what you want etc.....

i booked mine over a year in advance and they already had 2 weddings that day..... so i wouldn't wait

Thats not normal, I called mine 8 months in advance and they said they were booked till 2005 already for some dates. Im using Burtons in Melville. Ask for Jill she was great.

'normal' is a relative term...

3-4 months sounds normal to me, but i know many people here book things way in advance. i have yet to 'officially book' my florist, but laurie from la blossom has me penciled in. she helped me with centerpiece items last year. once the invitations go out i will contact her again and figure out exactly what i am going to do...

I do tend to book things in advance and I have already booked my florist...but I never came across anyone who told me to call back that close to the wedding. Good luck!

usually they want to book you right away.
I held out and all the florists I spoke to lowered their prices (for the same package) as we got closer.
Go see florists now but hold out. They won't all be booked. There are tons of florists on LI and they know brides want to book fast. Don't let them think you are in a hurry and call them 4 months before the wedding. If they aren't booked - they'll give you a great deal!

I booked LA Blossom in March. I wouldnt want to wait that long.

I went to my local florist just to get prices in March I think, and he said that when i was ready, (I didn't have my bm dresses yet) to come back in July.
