Starting to freak out!

Starting to freak out!

I don't post that often, although I am on a lot and love all the advice and ideas I get from everyone. But with less then 5 months to go, I am starting to get really bad anxiety. I have all the big stuff done, but what should I be doing at this point?

TIA

If it makes you feel any better, I miscounted some how and thought I had 5 months until my wedding, when it turns out it's only 4 months! Talk about stress! And I don't even have the big stuff done yet!

Just take a deep breath and have confidence that everything will get done. Try searching for the ultimate to do list to make sure you've thought of everything!

I read that book The Conscious Bride and it talked all about how anxiety is normal and that a lot of us brides try so hard to focus on the planning aspect as a way to avoid dealing with the anxiety of all the things that change once you're married. Now that you're done with the big things, maybe that's what's going on?

It's a really good book and made me feel much better when I started to freak out sometime in early January

Like LP says, breathe...always remember to breathe.

Everything will be OK don't let the little things drive you crazy and keep it all in perspective.

I think oftentimes we lose sight of the reason behind all the planning...yes, it's nice to have a fancy reception, hand addressed envelopes, a shiny tiara with perfect little flowers that match the embroidery on your dress, but it all pales in comparison to the happy/shiny moment you and your FH will share...as you exchange your vows, as you have yur first kiss, as you walk out of your ceremony as Mr. and Mrs. when you think about all that, the little things we obsess over do not matter.

I think that's really what I am nervous about. Yes I want the flowers to be beautiful and the photos to be perfect. But most of all I think I am stressed b/c I just want to be the best wife I can be and I get stressed that I won't be successful in the part that matters the most. Thanks for all your kind words, I think you guys are right, I just need to stop every once an a while an breath

Re: Starting to freak out!

The best thing to do is keep a list of things you've done and things you need to do.... it has kept me sane (or no worse off ) and haven't gone off the deep end. I only had 5 1/2 months to plan and prepare for my wedding in June and I'm proud to say I have about 90% of the items booked or done The only things I have left are the print the menus, programs and do my seating arrangement - which I can't do until my RSVP's come back - and I haven't mailed the invites yet

Just take it one step at a time and every time you cross off one item, you'll feel so great!!!
