So, FH's step-mother paid for our DJ. She said she had been to a few functions where a DJ company called NRG Entertainment did the music. So we trusted her and she sent them the deposit. They also threw in lights for free and she got a great deal. But now their website is down and I tried calling and their phone number is disconnected. I just texted his step-mom to let her know. Im trying not to freak out but its kinda hard not to when the wedding is 2 months away...
FH's step-mom couldnt reach the guy either. She's a teacher and she has been to a bunch of functions the school used where they DJed. Well she went around the school and asked whats up with the company and she got a number of another guy. She called this guy and he said the guy, Rob, she was dealing with knew he was losing his partnership with the company and tried to gip her. He was really sorry for everything. I just spoke to him and he sounds great abd very reassuring. I think the other guy may have run off with ehr deposit though. I need to find out. But we still have a DJ thankfully.

I would figure it out ASAP (maybe go there in person). In the meantime, maybe start making some calls to some vendors on here. We are using HV Sounds- Vinny - and so far I would recommend him highly (and he has great reviews on here)

im gonna see what his step-mom says. There was a contract and she left a 500 dollar deposit. He was only charging her 1450 and he gave her a lot of extras cause I guess she knows him from a few functions. Im praying she doesnt get gipped.

She sent him the payment a few months ago so Im pretty sure of it. Im gonna find out for sure later today if she lost money.

If she left the deposit by check, wouldn't it have been made out to the DJ company, not just the guy she dealt with? Trying to find a way for her to not lose her deposit too. Hope it all works out!

Yeah but she made the check out to the old DJ company. They changed their name and everything. That effin guy was a real scumbag for doing that. She wants to kill him
