Has anyone second guessed the time of year/day that they are getting married due to financial situations? Well I am, BIG TIME!!! Im even begining to wonder if I can stay at the same hall, but change the date......do they let you do this?
Thanks Ladies!!

Re: Starting to PANIC
hmmmm.... not sure about changing if you have a signed contract. maybe they can do it if they did not turn away anyone for your date and other ate open but i think if it's for a cheaper day and time they may have an issue with it
i hope all works out- still have a while to go and may be able to do it- hang in there

Re: Starting to PANIC
We originally booked for a Sunday and then changed our mind and wanted to switch to Saturday instead. The east Wind let us change without a fee or any problems!! good luck

Re: Starting to PANIC
I have not yet to second guess the time of year because it is considered offpeak season so I know I could not have gotten any cheaper. Your RH should be able to work with you if you need to change your date. But since you already signed the contract they may not change the price they gave you.

I am a bit worried about the date and time of year but not due to financial issues, I am just scared out of mind that there is going to be a HUGE snow storm and all our guests won't be able to come! But I just keep praying that won't happen. Just my luck it will be the worst snow storm to hit LI
But God will take care of it for us, I am sure of it!

Re: Starting to PANIC
Im just nervous because I didn't really shop around too much bc we LOVE the watermill, which is fine and I want to stay there, however, at first i was very against a friday night or anything except a saturday night for that matter, and now I think I'm stupid for being that way because i feel we could have done better price wise...........
I dunno hopefully this feeling will go away and I can go back to being sane again

Re: Starting to PANIC
I switched my date to a month earlier with no problem, but it was the same price. Not sure what would happen if you wanted a less expensive date. Good luck!

My friend got married at the Watermill and she moved her day up! She saved a load doing that... she got married this November

I think if they are able to book your day and date, then you can probably change it.

Re: Starting to PANIC
I have the same feeling not about time of year but my Saturday Afternoon Wedding.
I loved the Watermill and they only do ceremonies there if they are during the day. So we chose that but I know its going to be a very early day (4:00am) to get ready and we are taking pictures before time.

That was our original concern about the Saturday day. But now im wondering if I couldve made it work, or maybe done a Friday night instead.

Re: Starting to PANIC
If it's making you nervous, definitely talk to the person you dealt with there and ask them if you could switch your date. I don't see it being a big problem, brides do it all the time.

I was so stressed about the time we had chosen. We switched our day w/ the Watermill with no problems. Good Luck.
