Starting to Panic - Paradise Bridal

Starting to Panic - Paradise Bridal

My plans have been coming along nicely, things have been calm. Then I get hit with the news that my dress is coming in later than I was told. I ordered it on 7/24/04 and I'm now being told it will come in ON or AROUND June 30. That is absolutely unacceptable to me...they're telling me everything will be fine.
Now I read about horror stories that others have had with this retailer!!
PLEASE help - email me with any advice other than calling them every day.

Is that paradise bridal in patchogue??

I'm too going through HELL with them.

we ordered my bridesmaid dresses about 3 months from them. my wedding is on june 2nd. my girls paid EXTRA to have them 'rush cut' and yet my wedding is in 2 weeks and they aren't even in yet.

they told me they would be in late may. now i call every other day or so and they kept saying on, they should be in any day now, any day now.

finally on thursday i called them and FLIPPED out, wasn't nasty but made it clear that this was unacceptable. they called the manufacturer which is in TEXAS and they haven't even shipped yet. they promised me they'd have them rush shipped and that they'd be in by monday. they better be in by monday. we based ALL of the colors of the wedding on the bridesmaid dresses and there are so many things to do now that it's 2 weeks away, the girls barely have time to go there and get the alterations. i think when we go i might want to speak to a manager in person and just let them know how dissatisfied i was with the entire experience.

i got my wedding gown from david's bridals and ordered it the same week, and i've had it for a month and a half now. you'd think a bridal salon could beat that service.

Ugh, I just posted on 05 wondering how early most girls got their dresses cuz I ordered mine in September and they told me 8-10 months... It's now 9 and no sign of the dress. I know I still have some time but I am starting to worry slightly especially after reading a lot of negative things about them lately... Please keep us updated! If my dress is not in next month I am going to make them track it down just to make me feel better...

Some advice for everyone... get proof from the manufacturer that the order was placed and when. Many shops place late orders because they don't want the dresses laying around and they have to pay for storage.

Re: Starting to Panic - Paradise Bridal

I used paradise bridal. I was so paranoid with all my vendors, that for this one, I ordered my dress OVER a year before the date. I also lied about the actual wedding date, so they would have the dress in EARLY! I had the alterations and dress in my mother's house 1.5 weeks before the wedding! We ordered all 12 of the bridesmaids gowns about 10 months before the wedding. There was only a problem with 1 out of 12 of the dresses. Of course it was my sister's the Maid of Honor. Everyone ordered a different top. Well, they ordered the wrong one for her! They wound up repeating what one of the other girls had. Well, there was NO WAY that I would stand for that! They had the new top in in 1 week!

I am really sorry to hear about your bad experience with Paradise Bridal. I hope that you get everything worked out, and definetely call DAILY! Have you talked to the owner yet? I would go down there personally and make a fit on like a Saturday when there are lots of potential customers there.

Good Luck! I hope everything works out!

How do you do this?

you'll be fine!! I had my first fitting only 1 month before my wedding date and that was more than enough time.

My best friend used PAradise and has used them for EVERY formal occassion after her wedding with not a single complaint. They had to alter her dress 3 days before my wedding because she was 7 months PG and it was PERFECT

OMG, They lost my dress too. It was supposed to be in the first week of may. I call, NOthing, I keep calling, NOTHING, Then they tell me they dont know where it is. Now finally they find it. 7 weeks after they said it was going to be there. I was going to hit the women when I went there to find it whhen it was missing. She tried to be so nice to, bit all I could think of was who would bail me out if I hit her. Dont panic. It will show up. GO there.GOod luck

I agree w/this advice! call the manufacturer.

All I know is that if the dresses do (hopefully) come in tomorrow, they BETTER be correct. We only have 12 days until the wedding!! I really think the girls should be refunded at LEAST for the extra fee they paid to supposedly 'rush' cut the dress, being that it didn't come in when promised anyway and it seems to be no fault of ours.

I'm so sorry this is happening to you I used Paradise Bridal and they were wonderful. I ordered my dress in Nov of 03 and had it March 04 for my wedding in Oct. If it come in June you still have time for all the fittings and such. Good Luck
