Starting to stuff envelopes, but have a question...

I have the inner envelope as well as the outer envelope. Am I suppose to write anything on the inner envelope??? What's the difference between that and the outer envelope, and also on the RSVP card, am I suppose to write anything in after the M__________________

I don't think you fill it in- they are supposed to! That is why people number the backs, so when their silly guests forget to write their names, you know who the response belongs to!

And the inner envelope is usually Mr. and Mrs. ___ or Mr. ___ and Guest

So for example, if I'm inviting a family of 5 to the wedding - what would I do?

Outer envelope: 'The (Last Name) Family' followed by address

Inner envelope: List out all their names??

Actually the inner envelope is supposed to tell who exactly is invited to the wedding, and it's informal.

The outside might say 'The Smith family' but the inside might say 'Aunt June, Uncle Bob, Susie, and Ben'

Or if you feel the outside is pretty clear, you can not address the inner envelope. Many people omit the inner envelope altogether so addressing it is optional.

You would not write anything on the response card generally, but you COULD also use that as a way to indicate who is invited.

then on the next line the names of the 3 kids

So...
Mr. and Mrs. Michaels
Raine and Jorja

Ahh okay, perfecto. So the outer I can have whoever, just as long as it gets to them - and then the inner, I'll write out the names of the people specifically that are invited. That's perfect.
