Being that we're getting married Feb 18th- the 3 month mark to send out invites would be November 18th- I feel like that's a little too late because its right before all of the holiday madness- when do you think I should send out invites- I was thinking more towards the beginning of November and have an RSVP date for like Jan 1, 2012...is that too early? help!

Re: Starting to think about Invites...
Im getting married Mar 2 and sending mine out right after xmas and making my rsvp feb 1st. Usually you send them out 2 months in advance and the rsvp is 4 weeks before. So Id say send yours out the beg of Dec and make RSVP Jan 15. Just my opinion

Re: Starting to think about Invites...
i agree. my understanding is 6-8 weeks prior to the wedding date is when the invites go out. if you want to send it out closer to 8 weeks due to the holidays, i think that makes sense, but im not sure 3 months is necessary. hopefully people can spare a few minutes in the midst of the holiday crazy times to rsvp, plus, the date to respond will be after all the worst of the celebrations are over and there are always those who just don't respond no matter what time of year. anyway, best of luck figuring out what works for you!

I would send it right after Thanksgiving! Avoid the craziness of the holidays but don't send too early/too late

I think it is really a matter of preference. Are you having a B list? We have a Blist of ppl we cant really afford to invite but would like to if we get alot of no's.. therefore we are sending out a little less than 3 months before to allow time to get the no's back and still time for the second batch to RSVP without it looking obvious.. I think this is the standard, but, I think it can also be a matter of what makes you feel more comfortable. Like if you want to have some extra time incase you get more no's then anticipated, etc.
