Do we think that all stationary has to match exactly
ie: invites, programs, menu and escort cards?
Or does it become 'un-chic' (word compliment of my mother) when everything is the same?

Re: stationary question
I used the colors of my wedding, but all of the paper is not matching exactly. I am using an eggplant color for escort cards and photo uploading cards, and then a different shade of purple, like a shiny orchid color for menus. So they compliment each other but not too matchy matchy

Re: stationary question
I think that the invitations should all 'go' together, and then the stuff at the reception should all go together as well.. but both of them should have some sort of element in common. Your guests are not going to bring your invite to your reception and hold it up against your menu's to compare. MAYBE they will remember 'oooh, this swirl on the menu was also on the invite' but that's not highly likely. The programs can also be similar, but nobody is going to notice if your paper matches.

I think that the invitations should go together and the reception stuff should go together... I kinda like having some kind of common thread so this is what I did... My invitations were a pearlized/shiny paper- the inside of the invite was an ivory and wrapped around it was gold flaps... I found paper and card stock that matched the ivory and had that pearlized/shiny look... I used the paper to make my programs and the cardstock to make my menus... So they didn't match match but they had that common color and paper throughout... That's what I did

Re: stationary question
Mine are all mostly matching. I did layered metallic shimmer dark purple, lighter purple and white for the invites. The place cards and menu's will be layered with these colors as well.
The programs will be linen paper with a dark purple satin bow attached to the side. I really like the look of the linen paper for the church, so figured it was ok for it not to match exactly, but the rest do.

Re: stationary question
I personally don't like it so matchy. Ours were different styles/prints of the same design (black and white damask).

see i find something like damask easy to change up because there are so many variations of it... I just am having a more vintage theme and am trying to decide if I want to use the flourishes on everything or not.
Ill post a sample pic of my idea sometime next week once I get the rest of the materials in the mail :)
