stationary trend question

stationary trend question

Do we think that all stationary has to match exactly

ie: invites, programs, menu and escort cards?

Or does it become 'un-chic' (word compliment of my mother) when everything is the same?

I personally could go either direction... I like the flourish pattern that I am using on the invitation and response cards and think they would look great on programs, menu and escort cards as well...

How come when we become brides the most minute details and easiest decisions can drive us insane?

Re: stationary trend question

FH and I are making the stationary together and we talked about this. I liked the idea of carrying the theme through all of the stationary, but FH disagreed He thought that the invitation stationary should match (RSVP cards, directions, etc.) because they are all together, but the party stationary (programs, escort cards, etc.) should be a different set. I think he has a point, but I also said one theme is easier than coming up with several different concepts.

I didn't pick an answer for the poll because I think it looks great when everything matches but then I also think it looks fine when it doesn't (ie: STD is different than the formal invite & different from the stationery at the RH- menus, place cards, etc). I think that it is really only girls who are engaged or just recently married who will notice these things the majority of the time at a wedding because they are looking for ideas for their own wedding or they have just had theirs and can reeeeeeaally appreciate all the hard work and time that goes into the 'little' details. Either way whatever you guys decide will be right for you & will be beautiful!

You know how I feel on this! My invites with the enclosure cards all match obviously, and are all in one pocket fold holder.

My table numbers, programs, escort cards and related 'day of' paper goods will all carry a similar color scheme and theme, but wont be an exact match.

Do what pleases your eye! Forget what others think bc it's your day!

well we know what my table numbers look like... so that is definitely a different dynamic....

I just cant decide if I want to escort cards, menu and programs to have the same lavender flourishes that my invites do....I can't help but love thos flourishes....

I am leaning towards everything matching but I am so unsure!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think you could make it work so it compliments eachother without being 'matchy matchy'.

IE pick two different patterns to use throughout in the same color, use same type paper same pattern but change the color, etc.

That would definitely be trendy but you could still make it all fit together so it still appears 'together' and well-thought out.

Make sense?

I personally like when there's a small detail that carries through-- like a monogram, or a flourish. It makes things feel unified!

See that is what I thought also... to have a single symbol (like a flourish) that could carry through all of the paper goods.

This is what I plan to do!

I think as long as the stationary all conveys your theme in some shape or manner then its ok. Do what you like. I don't think someone will say oh they didn't match this or everything is too similar.
