My coworker took statistics last semester and HATED it. We also go to St. Joes in Patchogue. She HATED her teacher. I felt really bad for her.

oh no. don't tell me you are in sexton's class!?! i have heard horrible things about her teaching skills. good luck. stats is a do-able class if you have the right teacher (i took romano at st joes, and she was great). always check out ratemyprofessors.com before you make a schedule. ~lacey

Stats is horrible. I found if you find yourself lost that there is no going back, everything seems hinged on e/o. I remember our professor drilling that in our head....you have to stay focused, you have to follow, don't even think about missing a class.

I HATED it!!!!!!!

I change my major so I wouldn't have to take stats. I tried one semester and had to drop because my professor didn't speak English well. It's a hard enough class and then to not speak English...

I took statistics - it took awhile for me to catch on too, but I just kept reading the book over and over and did lots of examples and finally got it. If you are having lots of problems, you should consider getting a tutor.

i dropped a stats class this semester cause it was so hard....

and now, i'm not even going to go to that school because they require two classes... i had already took one and it wasn't that bad. if you get the right teacher...

I had to take statistics for my major....honestly it was the worst class I ever had...and I don't remember jack from it. But they wouldn't let me take experimental psych without it....dropped my GPA down though...which was horrible to me (I am a nerd!)

just study and do the best you can...I don't know ANYONE that enjoyed that class!

I took statistics two semesters ago and loved it. I found that going over the chapter that was covered in class really helped me to solidify what was taught by the Professor. But I also had an excellent Prof. She was very patient and took the time to explan concepts that the class seemed to be struggling with. Best Wishes!

I ended up taking all the stat courses my program offered, because I enjoyed them so much.

My advice -- stay on top of the work, make sure you can do you homework without going back to the book - because you won't have it at your tests.

I was a Math major and hated STATS, thank god at hofstra it was an elective so i took Number theory instead! Good luck!

My major required one stats class and one econ class - I thought both were miserable (and I otherwise love math) - the hardest classes of my college career! Thank god for the curve or I would've failed.

Ohh I always liked statistics !! I took two semesters of it (get this my major is elem ed!)
you have to stick with it if you have a good professor you will do fine but stick with it and dont miss alot of classes cause statistics is basically a step by step procedure that you have to do- everything you did the other day you will need to do a new step so just relax and take it easy!!!
You will do fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
