STD addressed to 'family... I know, another 'kids' topic.

STD addressed to 'family... I know, another 'kids' topic.

Okay SO, originally FH and I decided that even though we don't really want kids at the wedding, we don't want the OOT guests with kids to not be able to come because they can't find someone to watch the kids for the weekend. We felt that it would be unfair to invite OOT with kids and not invite local guests with their children. Accordingly, we sent out our STD's addressed to 'The .... Family'.

The more we talked about it recently (& based on behavior issues with some of our relatives children) we feel very strongly that we don't want kids there. If it comes down to it and someone won't come without their kids, then we will deal with that when the time comes... BUT, my question is----> since I already addressed the STDs to 'family' am I fully committed to inviting kids? Would it be terribly rude??

Help!! TIA

ehhh that's tough. If I received a STD saying 'The Smith Family' I would only assume that you are not only inviting me and my husband but our kids as well. I personally think that the invites, in this case, should go to the family as well.

What you uld do is say that you guys were planning on inviting the Whole Family but but due to there being too many people you guys had to come to a fair conclusion and not invite anyones kids
