Hey girls...I was planning on sending a magnet with just the month of April with a heart or something around the wedding date. Then I thought...how cool to send a whole year calendar instead of just one month. My problem...I will be sending them out the end of this month (one year mark) My question: If you received a calendar for the year 2008 in April of 2007 would you put it on your fridge that far in advance?
Now forget you're a crazy bride who loves EVERYTHING to do with weddings and give me an honest answer...LOL...
Both my FMIL and FSIL said they wouldn't put it up. My sister suggests doing a calendar from May 07 to April 08...again my FMIL and FSIL said they wouldn't put that up either... Suggestions?

Re: STD Calendar question
well i always thought the point of a STD was to have a reminder of the date and so whenever you saw it on your fridge you would smile and look forward to going to the wedding. it never occured to me that a STD would be only 'functional' if it had a calender and useless before the calender date. the whole calendar year one might suit everyone but if it is too small, no one is going to use it anyways.
then again i am one of those people who saves greeting cards for a while for sentimental value when others just throw them away after reading them. i think it depends on the person but i think the calender STD is a cute idea personally.

Re: STD Calendar question
Thanks...here is an example...maybe it will help...
Neither are the exact proof...just an idea of what I'm talking about...
it is a cute idea, but I think I like the one month STD better

Re: STD Calendar question
I think the one month does look more romantic like a STD, but some people might also like the 12 months one because they think its 'practical'. You should pic the one that you and FH like the most because either way someone will say they like the other one.

Re: STD Calendar question
If you're going to do a 12-month calendar, I would definitely do it the 12 months before the wedding, not the 12 months of 2008. That way people will put it up right away. That's the whole point of an STD anyway, right - to get people to put it somewhere where they'll remember to check it.

Re: STD Calendar question
It will be tough to find a vendor who will print a specialty calendar up with your particular month to the 08 month. You can do it yourself though or have someone design it and print them out and assemble them at a kinkos. I think in the end the best bet is the month magnet that people are showing you.

Re: STD Calendar question
hmmm I think I would go with the one month or no calendar-just the date and the pretty picture. i think your special day may get lost in the mix of other months on the std.
JMO though hth
good luck ! : )
