how early do the cards/magnets get sent?

I sent mine at my 9 month mark. I guess between 6 and 9. I don't think there is a set etiquette rule on this one.

I'm sending mine in August and the wedding is in May. I think between 6-9 months is ok.

I don't think their is a specific 'rule' either. I am sending mine out a year in advance b/c our wedding is on a holiday weekend.

jenny2penny - good idea. I just ordered my STD magnets and my e-party is this coming Saturday so when I send the Thank you's out, I will include the magnet too. Good thinking

Jenny good idea. Our e-party is Aug 9 so I may do the same thing (our wedding is 9/18/04)

I am thinking of making my own so I better get cracking.

There are some vendors on here who will make them, you can make them yourself, their are different ways you can do them.

I am thinking of making them myself. I have postcards for the computer, working on a template, going to get magnets and make STD magnets.

It sounds like a good idea in my head, now I just have to see how it will look when I am working on it

$.75/each from COUNTRIEFAN, a seller on eBay. She can make the thank you cards or STD cards for you with teh magents. She is so nice, and she will make them with any photo or idea you give her ans she always sends a few extras...

Do you need STDs if you're wedding will not be on a holiday wedding or if you don't have a lot of out of town guests? I wasn't going to do them, should I though? Thanks!

I got mine from Cheapinvitations.com

It was a custom magnet, so overall I paid $150 for 100 of them. Heather was great to work with those - my FH has a shaved head, so they had to alter the pic I sent to reflect that!

I am going to try and send a picture of it...first time trying this...The actual magnet is much sharper than this picture.

I ordered 10 sheets of magnets (100 business card sized magnets in all) for $17 on ebay. I'm making them myself. I'll try to post a pic when i get home. (i took the idea off another website, but its just MS clipart, so its not stealing any copyright/trademarks)
SInce its on mothers day weekend i thought they'd be good to send. Otherwise i probably wouldn't send STD's.
