Hi - I can't belive how bad I am with this stuff You guys are gonna think i'm really dumb - but I need help!
1) OK, so if you are sending a STD to someone who you will invite to the wedding with a guest (but you dont' know who the guest is), do you address the STD envelope to just the person, or do you write 'and guest' on the STD envelope?
2) If you know the name of someone's date, but you have never met them (it's a friend's boyfriend), do you address the STD envelope to both, or just to your friend?
3) Are you supposed to put any info with the STD regarding hotel accommodations for out of town guests? I was just going to include info with the invitations, but should I be giving all the out-of-towners a heads up by givng them info with the STDs this early?
I will prob thnk of more questions as I am addressing the envelopes. Thanks for educating me!!!

Re: STD etiquette
save the date cards/ magnets... are usually just to let ppl know what date it is that you plan to get married so they can 'save that date'... usually at the bottom it will say 'invitation to follow'... about mailing them out.. i have no idea... if they your guest brings a guest... you just need to put Mr.John Doe and Guest... atleast thats what i'm going to do... i'm not writing out their names unless i know they have been together a while and aren't married...

Re: STD etiquette
I didn't write 'and guest' on any of them. I just sent it to my individual friends at this point. If they were a really established couple who we both knew, we put both names on the invite.
Mr. A____ B____ Ms. C____ D___
We didn't want to have to commit to anything with respect to 'guest' until it got closer to the wedding date. We can always add 'and guest' for the wedding invite but at this point it is our friends who we wanted to 'save the date.'

good questions.
1- for the STD do not put and guest -wait till the invite time 2-friend's boyfriends whether u know them or not is 'and guest' 3- this may be a good idea - i wouldnt put it on the actual save the date paper or magnet necessarily but maybe an extra paper with this info for them to consider making arrangements early.. hmm

Re: STD etiquette
Thank you! This makes it a lot easier. I don't have to worry about learning the last names of boyfriends I don't know I think I'm trying to be way too 'proper' with my STDs when it probably isn't warranted till the actual invitations go out
