What was the wording of your STD and what town did you put? My ceremony and reception are far form each other, so what do I put on the STD? The hotels are closer to the recetion, so I was thinking of putting the reception town, but I don't want it to make the ceremony seem unimportant
TIA
(Putting 'Long Island' won't work because the ceremony might be in queens and the hall is in LI*')

Re: STD Question
Can you just put New York? That will cover both.

Re: STD Question
It's the town your ceremony is in...IMO, because this is where you're getting married. The rest is just a 'party'. However, you could include hotel cards with the STD's and info on the reception if you have it. Or you could include two...like...ceremony at...reception at...

Re: STD Question
no town, just formal invitation to follow. all of our guests know the area we live in and that it will be in that area. once they get the invite they can see specifically.

Re: STD Question
We didn't put the town, just 'Formal Invitation to Follow' FH is creating a website, and I will be putting that on the card that the STD is enclosed in (if I ever find one )

Re: STD Question
I put Long Island, NY. I have a lot of out of state people and the town would not mean anything to them.

Re: STD Question
okay... totally not what I expected when I saw the title subject: 'STD Question'. lol... besides something bad, what IS an STD in this circumstance!? (these initials are enough to drive a new bride crazy on this site! lol!!!)

I agree. . . it should be where you are getting married (ceremony). Do you have a website you could include that has more info on it?

Save The Date!
On the top, below store and above rules, there's a 'chat lingo' button that will help get you up to speed

Re: STD Question
OH MY GOD! Thank you! (boy, do I feel dumb!). I checked out the chat lingo... that cleared up so much stuff for me... like 'DH!'. Never could figure that one out! 'Designated Hitter' is what I think of for DH! lol... I need to get even MORE wedding minded, if that's possible! I'm obsessed!
By the way... I gave out my 'Save the Date' magnets as part of the favor at our Engagement Party! A 'Kim Anderson' picture, with all of the wedding information for people to keep on their fridges. I LOVED it! And you can ge enveloped to mail them in... and I think it's just regular postage... very light. (I mailed them in a few thank you's for peopl who couldn't make the Engagement Party). The MOST reasonable prices I found were from a website called favorlady.com . The 'lady' was SOOOO nice and SOOOO helpful and made sure the magnet was JUST the way I liked it before she made it. I think she sent me about 6 proofs - I kept tweaking it to the point of perfection. I THINK I paid about a buck a magnet! It was a perfect keepsake - and a perfect reminder!

I agree, leave the location out and just put formal invitation to follow. It's a save the date - the main thing is that they know the date.
My only hesitation about doing the hotel cards is that you wrote that the ceremony 'might' be in queens...will this change? You don't want to specify anything in the STD that will change - that's just more confusion and drama later...
If it's positve the location for ceremony, hotel, and reception - then the more detailed the better. Put the ceremony on the STD and the hotel/reception info on a sep card.
