std question!

heyy ladies...so now that i have my std's...i wanted to send them out like the end of the month or maybe bc its a holiday weekend fourth of july n like it seems to be so popular! you think its ok if i send them out then?

2nd part....when you address the names...do you put and guest? because there are some that might not be invited with a guest so i didn't knw if now was a good time to show that or leave it out bc i may end up inviting them with one ahhh?

Re: std question!

I think sending them out now is a little early. As you talk to people they will know when your wedding is. However, its over a year away, you don't want people to lose them! Also, people are more concerned right now what they are doing this fourth of july.....then they will worry about next year. Plus, i dont think its a big travel holiday so it shouldnt be a big deal. My wedding is august 2011 and i'm gonna send mine out in august 2010. And I still think that is a little early, but i'm gonna send them out with my thank yous from the eparty....just to save on a mailing.

I think its a little early to send them out. I'm prob sending mine out in September. I would wait till the summer to send them out in your case.

On my STD's i'm adding 'and guest' to those i'm allowing bring guests

Re: std question!

I think for a holiday weekend it would be best to send them out a little earlier than one normally would (I would actually say at a round the year mark would be fine).

As far as addressing, we are not putting 'and guest' on any of the STD invites. Granted all of our single guests will be invited with a guest but they don't need to know that right now. If it comes down to it later on that we might need to cut some people, the guest option is the first to go!

I completely agree with you on that one. I may add or remove 'with guest' as needed.

I say mail them in July. A year is more than enough time to let everyone know your wedding is next year.

My wedding is memorial day weekend next year.. I sent my Save the Dates mid-March... Some people said I did it too early, but people book trips for that weekend more than a year in advance sometimes... More people agreed it was smart to do it.. I don't think its too early, then again, I'm biased lol

For the STD, you don't need to write '& guest' since it's not a wedding invitation.. If you know the name of their guest and you're confident they will still be with them, you can write their name on the envelope also, but I dont think that is necessary even

We'll said. ITA!

I'm getting married on a holiday weekend as well and I plan on sending mine out within the next month or so. The STD isn't as formal as the wedding invitation therefore there is'nt a need to address the potential guest. With that being said (regarding the actual invite) I don't plan on addressing any envelopes with the guest option because I'm thinking of putting that on the RSVP cards so that they can respond whether or not they choose to bring a guest; I'm still in the process of hammering out all the details. As for the save the date itself, me and FH decided to go for the magnet option so it might be harder for people to lose (if they can stick it on their fridges). Hope this helps.

Yeah, ITA with this. If your wedding is July 2011, I would mail them July 2010. That's what I'm planning on doing b/c we have a TON of OOT guests so I want people to be well informed!

Re: std question!

My wedding is next May and I am looking to send mine out by this June. Spring/summer is busy for weddings and vacations -- I think that sending them out now helps them serve their purpose!

I am not putting the 'and guest' until I send the invites.

Re: std question!

we are only allowing people to bring guests if they are in a relationship. so we won't be putting and guest on the STD's. A lot can happen in the 7-12 months prior to the wedding so we won't be letting people know if they are coming with a guest until the wedding invites go out

Send them when you feel ready.

As for addressing dont be and guest because you dont know where these peole will be in the next year.

Re: std question!

I'm getting married on the same date :) (Date twin!)

I'm going to send mine out in August simply because I am not taking my engagement pictures until then.

I think sending them out in July would be perfect.
