STD question re: OOT guests & blocked rooms

I'm about to send out our STDs by the end of this week (hopefully!!) and I'm wondering....

Do I send the blocked hotel room cards to OOT guests now with the STD, or wait to include it with the actual invitations?

Or should I send it now and then again with the invitation?

Executive Inn sent me 30 cards, and I was planning on making copies of them if I need extras. We don't have too many people from OOT, but I blocked 10 rooms, just in case.

Thanks in advance!!

ETA: Here's my DIY STDs, thanks to many on LIW who gave great advice on how to make them. Please ignore the blurry pic... I took this on my camera phone.

I think most send it with the invitation. That's because most don't even block their rooms until they get the invitation.

We made an STD with the hotel info on it for our guests, but that was because 90% of our guests were from OOT and we blocked two hotels. We also put the info of our wedding website on our STDs. That way people could look at the wedding website as things were added.

Re: STD question re: OOT guests & blocked rooms

We have a loooooooot of OOTers and wanted people to have a heads up ASAP since we're getting married on a Sunday, even though most of our friends will be off the next day since it's August (a lot of my friends are on summer break as teachers or as students).

We sent out STDs appx 1 year in advance (with our e-party invites or announcements) and inserted a little page with OOT hotel info for our OOTers. We also made a wedding website with the same info.

So far we have 14 rooms booked for 2 nights each (mainly FH's family + one relative on my side and an OOT groomsman). I've been working all weekend on an 'OOT guide' to e-mail out with info on our hotel, airports, cabs, rental cars, restaurants and things near the hotel, + info on NYC (because some of our guests have never been and are making a mini-vacation out of it)

I want people to book ASAP -- it will help us have an idea of which OOTers will be coming, and it will also give us time to potentially add more rooms to our block if that's even possible.

If you have your rooms blocked off then I would send the information now and again when you send the invitations. Usually most blocked rooms only last until 30 days prior to the wedding, you want to give people more then enough time to book.

Definitely send it now. I mostly have OOT guests and even a year out they keep asking me about hotel stuff!

I sent it with the STDs, with the hope that people would block their rooms early. Unfortunately, no one did. I'm also sending it out with the invites.

I sent my STD's right before Christmas, my wedding taking place 09-27-08. I did not include the customary hotel info since they could see further information on our wedding website.

If you think it 100% necesarry or guests have no other way of checking on wedding information then send along with STD. Better safe than sorry!

I sent hotel cards with my STDs...and sent them 6 months prior to wedding.

We have 80 rooms blocked at the Hilton because a majority of our guest list is OOT. I sent a hotel card to every single person (even locals) because some like to stay overnight!

Also the Hilton made us a personal webpage and link that we emailed to many guests! Their service has been great so far!

I just sent my STD's out and I included hotel info on my wedding website - to which there was a link on the STD. I would save the cards for the invite.

I put our wedding website which has the hotel information on the STD.

sent it out on the STD's and no one booked the hotel. I sent the invitation out and no one booked the hotel until a week or two before the RSVP date so honestly don't wase the money unless your printing a card all ready or its free.

i'm sending them out with both. they went out already in the STD and i'll be putting them in the invitations too. we have 1/4 of the guest list coming from california so i wanted them to have the info as soon as possible.
