STD questions

STD questions

I am really going nuts with these things. This are probably really dumb questions but...here it goes. When addressing the envelopes do you say 'and guest' when the person you are sending it to is single. In my mind it is a magnet going on one person's refrigerator but I wouldn't want someone to think they will not be invited with a guest. Also, do you put the hotel block cards in with the STD's or just the invites? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I addressed my envelopes with and guest so that they knew they were being invited with a guest. I also put hotel information in the envelope. I made up a card that said that rooms were reserved under my name at certain hotels and to call them prior to a certain date, etc.

Ditto. Many people will say that STD's should not have 'and Guest' but for me it made sense. I thought that my friends were more likely to 'save the date' if they knew they could bring a guest or someone they're dating.

I ordered free business cards from Vista Print and had the hotel block information printed on them. I was able to choose a design that went very well with our STD's. Many people booked their room right after receiving the STD with the hotel block info.

I am not addressing the STDs with 'and guest', because a lot of the people I'm sending to are 3 or 4 pairings that live under the same roof. So one family unit, one fridge, one magnet. It would be way too wordy to say Mrs X & BF, Daughter A & Fiance, Daughter B & BF, Daughter C.

I'm also not including hotel info, because I don't have a block yet. But I am including our website on the attachment card, which will be updated with that info as soon as I have it.

No save 'and guest' for the invitations. Once the Save the Dates go out they are set. You can't change things later, so say you need to cut back your list, you can't decide not to invite them with a date later. You don't need to let them know they can bring a date until the invites go out, 4-8 weeks is plenty of time to ask a date.

Even with girlfriends, unless its extremely serious I am not putting girlfriends (or boyfriends) names on the card. For instance, FH's brother is dating a girl, but they are only 23 and its only been a few months. So I am not addressing it to her, what if they break up?
