STD timing

I am a year away and I am so impatient and want to send out my STDs!!!- when did you send yours out?

I'm after you and I just sent mine out on Saturday. The reason we did it so early was because 1/2 the guest list lives out of the country and another 1/4 live out of state. I would say a year out is normal.

I'm sending mine around the year mark because my wedding is on a holiday weekend. Since you are over a holiday weekend too I would definitely say send them out!

My one year mark is this coming Saturday, and I've been wanting to send mine out for the past few weeks. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to collect all the addresses, I'm still waiting on the last 2 addresses, and once I get them, I'll send them out.

I don't think you have to wait, especially if they're magnets, because they go right on the fridge and then it's a constant reminder!

We sent ours out about 10 months before the wedding. I think a year out is fine.

I'm sending mine in february at the 8 month mark

I agree. If you are on a holiday weekend, a year is good. I sent mine 8 months out and I am the weekend before a holiday. I thought I did it a little late

I originally thought a year before too (we are the same weekend) but that's right before holiday cards start going around.. Am I being crazy for thinking that? Lol

We would do it around the year mark if we could but we will be waiting until the fall since our engagement session is in early September!

We are sending them out at the year mark as well. We have 1/4-1/2 of our guests from out of state so we want everyone to know in advance so they can plan ahead with the costs.

Although a 2015 bride here, I figured I'd ask you ladies to get opinions since you all are talking about STD's... We were thinking about sending them out with holdiay cards this upcoming Christmas since the wedding will be roughly a year from then and also a holiday weekend (Martin Luther. We figured kill two birds with one stone.... What are your thoughts? Tacky or sensible?

I'll be sending mine out around this October because 1. A decent amount of the guest list is OOT. 2. The wedding is 12 days before christmas so people are going to need to plan in advance and 3. I want to get them out before the holiday cards go out! So I plan on having them out before halloween!

I'm sending mine soon. It's a holiday and I'm just too excited to wait. I'm hoping the magnet feature of them will mean they get stuck on the fridge and not tossed/forgotten lol. So they will likely go out around 12 1/2 months prior lol

I think that's cute...especially if you just incorporate your STD into the Holiday Card. I've seen 'We wish you a Married Christmas' STD/cards before..there are so many cute ideas online.

I too was worried about the christmas card chaos but I agree with Katielynn. Halloween is a perfect time to send them. I feel like as long it's before Thanksgiving you will be fine because no one really sends Christmas cards before then!

we did ours at the year mark because we felt like since it was over the summer people might be planning vacations and things are just generally more busy of the summer. You could send yours out soon, it's not too early.

You can send your STDs whenever you want. I sent mine out more than a year before. We were waiting for the year mark but it was a little more than a month before when FMIL told us a family friend was worried because they knew someone else getting married in September, but was unsure of the date. I figured what the hell, I had the magnets made so I sent them out that way everyone knew about our date first. It also made everyone stop constantly asking me when the wedding was!

Haha same! I'm sending mine out toward the end of June (11 month mark). I know a lot of people plan vacations for Memorial Day weekend quickly so I want to beat them to it!

I did 7 months out... You don't want people to overlook it and forget about it...
