I know people who did not have them. The main reason that I'm having them is because we're getting married on a holiday weekend. So to make sure people know in advance before they make vacation plans, at least they'll know what they'll be missing.

We are not doing save the dates. The word just spread through friends and family. Most of the people I know that use save the dates , use them for destination weddings or weddings on a holiday weekend.

well you still could....you dont have to send them out until like 9 mo. before the wedding...you still have over a year...i got mine at vistaprint and they were so inexpensive.

i know people who didnt do this. Its totally fine. i did it because im on Vday & alot of couples go away for a special weekend. Now they can have a special night with us

Not everyone does these. I wasn't going to, just to save some money, but then I picked a holiday weekend to get married and I wanted to give people notice not to make plans. But you definately still have time. You can still order them or make them yourself. I got mine from magnetstreet.com and they were here within a week. And I mailed mine out on my one year mark...

I won mine at an liw event, but since im not on a holiday weekend and actually want LESS people at my wedding, i decided to give it to someone who needed it more so no, im not doing them

I am not doing them. We are not getting married at a busy time of the year so I don't think it's necessary.

Most of the weddings I was invited to did not have them. I am getting them for 2 reasons.
#1 - 60% of my guests are out of town and its a Sunday night wedding so they need to plan ahead, take off from work on Monday and book hotel

#2 Vistaprint.com had an amazing deal. I got 100 Save the Date magnets for $23 including shipping. I designed them myself and they are very basic but hopefully they came out okay. They shall be arriving in a week. Check out vistaprint.com if you still want to do them. I believe they have the postcard Save the Dates on sale right now!

Yeah I'm doing them because a large majority of the guests are out of town (well.. out of country too) and they need more time to figure out their plans.

I had an engagment party and on out favor we wrote Save the date 11-8-08 on the ribbon. HTH

That's the same for us . . . if it weren't a holiday weekend and most of our guests weren't OOT, I'd probably forego the whole idea, since most people know anyhow! But, people plan way in advance sometimes for holiday travel, so we figured it was a good idea!

we sent out save the dates. I don't think that is something that you must do. I have been to plenty of wedding that are without. The main reason I sent them out is because we are getting married on a friday and we also have alot of out of town guest.

We are getting married on the same day. Just a year apart.

I didn't do it...i had planned to but i kept delaying this process, couldnt find one exactly how i wanted...i designed my own and still have the design but i waited so long and at that point i just said forget it its too late.
