Re: STD's

this is what i would suggest.

google image 'save the date', 'save the date magnets', 'save the date postcards'; or look around here and see what you like.

once you know what you want it to look like, it will be easier for us to walk you through the process.

you can fm me if you need help

Re: STD's

ann you and garrett photograph so well you can maybe do a post card with a little calander on it and your date circled its july 4th right? maybe something with like fireworks and stuff in the background you could probably put it together with photo shop and just print it up yourself. im sure no one would mind your good looking faces on their fridge....or ive seen one that looks like it was taken at a photobooth and in each picture the couple was holding up a sign that read Save The Date then on the opposite side of the card it had the info on it

thanks sweetie!

I think we want to do a magnet since they are super cute, and look pretty easy. I don't have photoshop tho, and I have no idea how much it is!!

Thanks for the responses ladies, I knew I could count on my LIW gals!

Re: STD's

I made magnets.

Here are my directions (magnets are in my album)

Materials: Magnet paper (can be bought at
staples-4 sheets for $12)
Picture to be set as background
TIME AND PATIENCE

1. I used Microsoft Word which made it really difficult.
2. Copy and paste the picture you want to use
3. Resize it to the size you would like the actual magnet to be.
4. Right click and select format picture. Set the layout of the picture to be sent to back, so that the text shows up in front of the picture.
5. Copy and paste the picture 7 more times that way you have the same size magnet and you can fit 8 magnets on one paper to save you money.
6. Make sure you have the toolbar for drawing so you can use textboxes
7. I used the textboxes for the Save the date title, the website, the Date, and the Information box.
8. Right click and set the boxes to be in front of background.
9. Again copy and past 7 other times to put onto the other magnets.
10. Make a table if you want the calendar on the magnet. Again set the table to be in front of background and copy another 7 times
11. You may have to adjust the margins so that nothing gets cut off and this may cause you to have to adjust the magnets... i had to do this Many many times!!!
12. This is the way i wanted my magnets to look, but you may have your own vision, but thats what i essentially did and you can alter it.
13. Print!!!
14. Have fun cutting them!!!

Hope that helps!!!

Let me know if you have any other questions

Re: STD's

i'm doing magnets as well with our pic on it.. If you google, ' do it yourself wedding save the date' there's this amazing website that has great pricing.. check it out..or if you want, Kinko's also has magnets and they can help you graph and design your own . They were charging me $2.00 per magnet + $5.00 if you decide to do the picture. If you spend $100 you get 15 % off.. see what's the least expensive. good luck

Re: STD's

With ink and materials it probably came out to 60 cents per magnet

Re: STD's

We made our own STDs. Theres a thread somewhere where I posted them up. It was less expensive and we got to send a bunch of different ones since I designed them all myself.

Soon2Be... I have the program. It isn't that expensive. The basic one is maybe a 100 bucks at best buy-120 tops. If you have an idea what you might like I can try and screw around with the ideas for you and just email them to you so you can do what you like with them. Good luck with whatever you do. :)
