When is everyone sending out their STD cards? How far in advance is okay to send out STD cards?
TIA

Re: STD's
who is doing STD's? I was going to, but then everyone told me not to b/c it was not necessary. They said you only need to send one if it is a holiday season or if it is far away. Mine is only a year. I am confused!

Re: STD's
My engagement party is on 4/14. I hope to have them ready in time to give them out as part of the favors, and mail the rest soon after.

Re: STD's
I'm sending them this July 4th. Since we're getting married on a holiday, we're sending them a year in advance. I think most people send them 6 months before!

Re: STD's
I will probably send them out at the one year mark, in November. I like the idea of sending them with the holiday cards actually.

Re: STD's
Probably next january. I've heard that 9 months is the proper wediquette amount of time to send out STD's, unless you're having a destination wedding, then it is a year in advance.
ETA: oh and a year in advance if you're having your wedding on a holiday weekend

Re: STD's
Doing about a year in advance. I am going to try to wait till 11 months prior only because my wedding falls on easter sunday and we are doing a engagement announcement/std combo since most of the family doesn't know we have been engaged since sept.

I'm doing STD's...I figure I'll send them about a year in advance. Why not? More fun wedding stuff for me to do.

not doing them no one is really coming from out of town - unless they are coming from italy. . . and they already know the date lol and its not a holiday weekend

I am in the same situation. Most people already know the date. Rather save the money or put it to soemthing else. I felt like everyone was doing them. Now I feel better.

Re: STD's
i was supposed to send them out this month but didnt get around to it...so hopefully by march...im sending them SUPER early because my wedding is the day before thanksgiving (which everyone was fine with) but i want them to have enough notice to be able to plan for this thanksgiving since my wedding my change their thanksgiving plans the following yr (ie alternating which family u visit for those that are married w/kids etc).
