STD's

About how long before the wedding should I send them out? I know I have a while but I'm trying to get a timeline going here! TIA

9 months to a year. 1 year if it's over a holiday weekend

I thought STD's were sent out typically if there was a lot of time between the engagement and the wedding. We sent out our STD's about 2 weeks after we booked the date about 1.5 years before our wedding so people knew to save the date since most people had not yet purchased their 2006 calanders yet.

I personally don't think it's ever too soon to send out the STD's.

I agree, never too soon,

We sent ours out soon after we booked, by then we were less than 1 year away from the wedding.

I sent ours out 6 months before hand. I think the general rule is 6-9 months unless you're getting married on a holiday weekend.

We are about to send them out and we're getting married in 6 months. Our invites will go out at Labor Day.

being that you are getting married near thanksgiving, i would def send them out a year before

I agree. I will be doing it around 11 months before.

I would send them out this Sept or October. If you wait until the 1yr mark they could get stored with the holiday cards, and if you do it sooned they can plan sooner. So while they are at Thanksgiving this year they do not start planning next year just to cnx. My family is close amd big so we always plan the holidays 1yr in advance. If they are out before the holiday maddness they will beable to plan, and not just say well I'll wait until the new year. Kinda defeats the STD purpose

I sent mine out about 10 months before, but whatever you feel comfortable with....no protocol, really :)

We're sending them out 9 months to a year prior to the wedding b/c most of his family lives out of state and needs enough notice to make traveling arrangements.
