I know it's been asked and that the standard is 8-12 months but I'm getting married August 24th, pretty much the last weekend so when should I send my STDs?
I feel like this August is TOO early and originally I wanted to do February so they would come around Valentine's day but is that TOO late?? I'm planning on mailing my invites early due to vacations and OOT guests so IDK if February is cutting it too close if I mail out my bridal shower invites in March, then have it in April, then mail wedding invites in June for an August wedding.. I feel like I'm bombing people! lol But I didn't want to send them in Nov/Dec because I felt they would get lost in the holiday mix :( now IDK what is better! August 12 months out or February 6 months out before all these other invites they will be receiving..

STDs question..
I would do it in September or October. I am sending mine at the 1 year mark for that reason (not to get lost in the holiday shuffle).
I'd do it in the fall. A year out isn't necessary since it's not a holiday weekend, but 6 months might be too little time since some people plan their vacations months in advance.
I'm probably sending mine out early August.

STDs question..
I'm getting married on Columbus day weekend and I'm sending out my STDs early November. I feel like as long as you do it before Thanksgiving you will be fine. I figure no one really thinks about sending out their holiday cards before then.

I'm not quite on the ball. Because we planned this thing with less than a year (8 months), we're sending our STDs out now for a March wedding.

STDs question..
I'm getting married 10 days before you and I just sent mine out. I only did it because everything that needs to get done before Christmas I'm doing before Labor Day so I can focus on school/observation hours/work/the 2 organizations I have a major role in on campus. Also, FH was starting to tell people to expect the save the dates within the next week so I felt the pressure. I think it's different for everyone so whichever you feel more comfortable doing. If you have a lot of OOT then I'd recommend August.

I agree with Fall, before the holidays would be good.

are you using any kind of fall theme? I originally was going to do 6 months (February) and have it valentine's day themed so now I'm thrown by doing it in fall!

We are actually having our engagement shoot in October because we love fall and wanted pictures in the fall season. Plus, one of our wedding colors is coral, so it blends in well.
