Steak Place

It is my DH's Birthday today and he loves a good steak...So i am looking for a new place to go on the island

I have been to Peters, Rothmans, JR's, The Spare Rib...

Any suggestions would be great...

Are you near NJ?

I took DH to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Weehawken. It's approx $50 a plate, but I've never had such great steak in my entire life!!!

My husband likes Paces on the Island.

I personally Love it better at Giorgio's, it was soooooooooo damn good

Major's Steakhouse in East Meadow or Woodbury. There is also a Ruth Chris here on the island.

Morton's on Northern in Great Neck is pretty good & they have a nice wine list.

The Clubhouse in Huntington (on Jericho Tpke.) Great food and service! I also love the fact that the place is tiny...it has a much more intimate feel about it.

I've heard great things about Abel Conklin's in Huntington Village, but I haven't tried it yet. Hopefully we'll get the opportunity soon.

I heard PACES in nesconset/hauppague is really good.
Personally, I think MAJORS is overrated and just blah.
Steakport has pretty good steak.

We don't do steak very often, 'cause Fh doesn't really like it, but I've been to Pace's, Peter Luger's, and Major's w/ my family- my vote goes to Pace's, believe it or not.

I would call about a reservation - it IS a saturday night!

I'm a steak lover...my DH and I went to Majors once and never returned.

Ruth's Chris is overrated. The steak was good, but I didn't leave wanting to come back again for more.

ETA, Steakport is no longer there. It's now a different Seafood/Steak place.

Both of these places are very good! Abel Conklin my DH took me too about a month after we got engaged because that is where we had reservations to go for V-day but he was sick. We ended up on my couch in PJ's & he proposed there.
