Stealing from Ms. Kitty 1274 - Need help with HM

Can people post their research on Hawaii - hotels, airfare, islands, PRICES!

FH & I are going to the travel agent on Thursday and I don't want to walk in blindly...

Also - is it better to book through travel agent or online for HM?

There's no reason you can't price it both with a travel agent (a few of them too!) AND yourself!!!!!! Thats what I will do.

We are going to Hawaii for 11 nights.

2 nights in Oahu at the Royal Hawaiian
3 nights in Kauai at the Grand Hyatt Kauai
2 nights in Hilo/Big Island at the Volcano House (We are actually staying ON a Volcano i a national park type of place)
4 nights in Maui at the Hyatt Regency Resort

We have a car in all locations and breakfast in some.
We are using my mothers American Advantage miles to fly so we arent paying for our flights and its still over 6K.

For the second part of your question -- I booked through an agent (MAS Travel). Since they have been to St. Lucia (and everywhere else!) a million times, they gave me different perspectives that I couldn't get online. You can get room descriptions and stuff online, but there are other things you can't find out unless you talk to someone who's been there. What restaurants to go to, how much privacy a room has, what tours to go on, etc.
