He just came up to my desk and muttered something about 'here, look at this...' or something. I couldn't really hear him. He handed me some catalog and I completely fumbled! I stuttered and said 'no, I don't want it,' and tried to turn around. He stood there for a second and I turned back saying 'what is this?' He said 'it's a catalog.' I turned away and said 'no, I don't want it, take it back, I can't afford to buy anything.'
But my voice was shaking and he looked sort of stunned. He walked away, but I just know I'm going to get some note, or email or something from him about my reaction!
It had been such a good year! 3 weeks and no contact!
