I was wondering if anyone can help with suggestions for a steel band for our cocktail hour.... If anyone can tell me who they used and about how much it cost that would be soooo helpful =)

Bravura!!!! They have many options for cocktail hour.
I saw Steel Sensations at a wedding and they were good...not sure how much they cost though b/c we used the steel band through our DJ. We paid around $1,100 for ours.
eta: We had a 4 piece band

We paid $400 w tip for FBILs wedding for just drums for 1 hour. cant remeber the name of the people
They were AMAZING and affordable and easy to work with - seriously .. look no further!!!!!!

We just finished our quest for steel drums.
First – Ask how many pieces and what the band consist of. You’ll be surprised at the differences. Most places you have to book in hour blocks. Our CH was 90 mins.
Our quotes ranged from $1000 to $2000 from a 3 to 5 piece Steel Drum Band for 60 to 90 mins.
Steel Impressions has a showcase coming up on Jan 30 at Flowerfield.
With everything said and done, we booked this 5 Piece.

I booked JahPan for my August 2011 wedding. I found them on another chat here on LIWeddings.com and the woman/owner is very helpful and professional. I am getting a two piece for my cocktail hour. They are not cheep, nor too expensive. They were on the higher end but I felt the most comfortable with this vendor than the others I researched and spoke to.
