Steel Drums for CH

Steel Drums for CH

Anyone doing this? If so, do you mind telling me who you're using and how much?

With Code Bleu, I get the option of a guitarist or piano player. But I REALLY wanted to do steel drums. I called Code Bleu, and they work with someone outside and it would be an extra $650....just for the one hour! I think that's a little excessive for just one hour.

Our DJ offers this - Tommy's Tunes but we are getting a saxophone player for the entire reception and that was $650. I'm sure the steel drums for an hour are much cheaper. I have the sheets at home. I will FM you tonight if you want.

I was asking all the dj companies about this last night. The cheapest one I found was from 'doctor beat productions', they told me 250...but that was probably as an add on though...
Laura do you mind fm'ing me info on ur band. we are looking into it and are wondering what the price range is. I don't know if we looked wrong but the whole set up that afterhours had last night is like 5k!

I only got prices so far from LI Sound but they charge $650 for 1 piece Steel Drummer with backing tracks for CH. If you also want one for the ceremony, it's an extra $100.

Steel Sensation!!!!!! Ian is the owner and he is wonderful to work with!

We started with a two-piece & then upgraded to 5 pieces & then for soon the day of there were 6 guys playing for some reason :)

I know some of the DJ companies, including After Hours, books them as their Steel Drum Band, but we booked them directly.

Find out what company they use and call them directly. We figured out that the DJ's were marking them up hundreds of dollars!

Thanks girls. FH shot down my idea though He thinks we should just stick with what we already have and I should stop spending money, lol.

I actually think that is pretty comparable. I have gotten a few quotes, one through our band leader talking about someone he knows was $750, afterhours was around the same, and steel impressions was $800 for a trio.
