stemware

ladies please show me what you registered for as your stemware!!!!!!!!!!

I recieved the mikasa cheers collection for everyday wine drinking as an engagement gift, but i really cant see myself putting that out with fine china

i registered for a vera wang duchesse glass, and idk if it is my style

does anyone think a set of riedels? are too casual with fine china??

ideas? THoughts?

the riedel is simple but nice. it depends on what your style is. If you used the riedel it wouldn't take away from the china on the table. i registered for waterford lismore nouveau which is similar to what my mom and grandma have, so I was going for a more traditional classic set.

Re: stemware

we only registered for reidel. they are simple and classic.

then again, we didn't register for fine china, either.

my grandma has told me that her stemware and fine china are mine when and if we want it. we probably wouldn't take them for keeps until we have a house with a formal dining room anyway.

Re: stemware

yes my worry that the riedel will look too casual for the fine china setting

the fine china setting is kate spade larabee
and the flatware is malmo kate spade

Re: stemware

i think the reidel will look fine with that. i dont think reidel is necessarily casual. i think it is just simple and clean looking so it can go either way. your china is also simple and clean looking so it will blend well i think. (by simple, i mean not overly ornate)

Our stemwear is Waterford Lismore Nouveau Platinum Stemware. It looks great with our fine china pattern - Noritake Crestwood Cobalt Platinum

Re: stemware

we registered for the matching stemware from the Mikasa Love Story Collection.
Someone already bought us all of our beverage and red wine stemware!

Re: stemware

reidel would look very lovely with that.

I registered for Vera Wang - Vera Leaf

To go with this china: Nortikae Birchwood

I'm not sure if anyone will get me the glasses or if I'll even get a complete set - so reidel's might be my backup

Re: stemware

I have stemware coming out of my eyeballs!

Someone bought us a plain set of wine glasses, which I will probably return since we already have an unopenend set which we bought.

I registered for and got Lenox Tuscany Harvest. I LOVE the colors.

I also registered for these. They are fancy, but inexpensive Cristal D'Arques Lonchamps. On sale they're like $16 for a set of 4, which is so cheap, but they look really nice

When we first got engaged my parents (wow, back then I had two parents..weird) got us a set of handpainted butterfly meadow wine goblets also.
(my everyday china is butterfly meadow, but I feel like I can also use them with the fine in the spring)

ETA: This is my fine china. I originally registered for Waterford crystal, but realize it's expensive esp in this economy. When we got engaged in 2004 it was a very diff situation. My aesthetic is my dining room will be ivory/neutral and I will add accents of color, like the goblets above.

Re: stemware

I registered for the VW Dutchesse Platinum Collection, and I think it goes great with my china (Noritake Platinum Wave).

I think the china you registered for is a little more modern than mine, and the VW stemware has more of a traditional look. I think the Reidel would go nicely! Also, have you looked at Kate Spade Pebble Point? I think that would go really well with your china!

Re: stemware

thanks ladies
your opinions are SO helpful! I am the first out of all my friends to get married and i have noone for help!

after a grueling 2 hours in macys, i think i found a stemware that fits the more 'modern' look of the kate spade dishes

opinions?!?! u can be honest!

Love it! I think those would look fantastic with your China pattern.

Were you able to 'set a table' in the store with your China, flatware and stemware? Most registry departments allow you to do that so you get the full effect.
