Stemware for Dummies?

So, FI and I went to register for crystal yesterday and the saleswoman at Fortunoff must have thought I was insane when I was agast that one glass cost $49.50.

Do people actual buy you this crystal? Really, I'm so dumb when it comes to this stuff but FI and I loved the pattern Neve by Waterford and I am completely shocked that it costs so much. She registered for us the Goblet and the Wine Glass and said we should consider the Iced Beverage. We both really love the design and we chose a Waterford place setting, but did anyone else register for this? What pieces did you get off your registery? Should I really consider the Iced Beverage?

FI and I don't live together so we need so much stuff and I feel bad about this registery thing. I know people will buy what they can, but I just feel like I'm putting so many things on it, will people think I'm being over-the-top?

we did flutes, goblet and iced beverage.

we have all flutes and goblet..we got them as e gifts from people (we did not have a party people just sent them) Also we have 4 out of our 12 iced bev.

now we didnt register for any china..i have my great grandmothers and my grandmothers...so people we more inclined to buy crystal for us.

i put a 500 vaccuum on my reg. i am wishing someone or people chip in to buy it..if they dont then i will get it myself with giftcertificates.

Dont feel over the top! you reg for what U want. If you really like the crystal go for it!

Thanks, Chrissy. I ended up changing it and going with the Waterford Marquis Vintage Collection. They come in sets of 4 and 2's, no cuts to the crystal and I just feel better about these. Maybe in the future if I really like crystal, I can get the others, but for now these will be just right.
