we just got engaged 3 weeks ago and the only thing that is stressing me out is what to do about my step father and my real father. my step father has always been my 'father' where as my real father has been in my life my whole life but not 100%. i dont want to hurt feelings and i dont want this to be added stress of my wedding. is it wrong for my step father to walk me down and have my real father walk down with my step mom? im just scared that once this is said to my real father he will be very hurt and not even want to attend our wedding. i hate how i have had to pay my whole life for my parents problems......

Hello. I was in your situation also. I had both dads walk me down the aisle. My Birth father started me, and as we approached the half way mark my step dad walked me the rest of the way. My birth dad met us at the front and they both lifted my veil and gave me away. I also had 2 different songs to dance to with them. Fm me if you need too.
PS. Choosing a church that is bigger and has the middle Aisle is very helpful. I chose St. Josephs in Ronkonkoma. But there are many other you can use.

My two friends had the same problem. They too had their stepfathers meet half way and take them to their FH. It was nice and no one had their feelings hurt. Good luck!

I have similiar except my stepdad raised me and my dad was in the picture 100% of the time so I'm walking down with my mom and dad and my step-mom and step-dad are walking down together.

I am in that same situation my step father raised me and my father was only there when it was convient for him sometimes since we lived out of state but since I had my daughter we have become closer and I told him i was having both of them walk me down the aisle and he was hurt but he is dealing with it because its what I want and whats gonna make me happy. I am not planning my wedding according to what someone else wants it whats me and FH want. I also am doing a father daughter dance with both of them.

thats exactly me, my dad lived out of state too and i dont have any children but now that my sister and i are older he wants to be this huge part of our lives, but only when its convient for him. i guess i can have them both and do 2 dances but i know either way my fathers feelings or my step fathers feelings will be hurt. its not fair, my FH tells me to just screw my dad like he did me my whole life, but there is still some part of me that cares so much.....

I think this is a wonderful idea. I think this is the best way to go, and definetly dance with both dads, maybe you can have you dad start the dance and then hand you over to your step dad or vise-versa.

The last wedding I was at had the same situation and she ended up having her stepdad walk her down. But she was in a different situation, she wasnt even sure her real dad would show up.
