Step-Father wearing a tux

What is your opinion on your step-father wearing a tuxedo?

I'm not really close to my step-father, but my mother just assumed that he would wear a tux. I was on the phone with my dad and he started talking about my step-sister's wedding and how he doesn't think it's right that he should wear a tux to her wedding and that it should only be the father of the bride who wears a tux. Now I feel awful because I never realized that he would be insulted if my step-father wore one.

What should I do?

That's a tuff situation! You can't help the way your father feels but at the same time it might be kinda awkward to tell someone they are not allowed to wear a tuxedo.

How close are you to your step father? Would it be very awkward for you to talk to him about it?

Could you tell your father that you wanted it to be like a black tie affair and therefore would appreciate people coming in tux's? Your father's could just be different maybe. . .

I know FH and I are going to ask all our uncle's to come in tux's mainly because we want them to stand out a little bit.

Sorry I can't really be of much help. . but anyway!
