Hello, My fiancee's mother remarried and both his father and stepfather are going to be part of our big day. Who should the mother of the groom to walk down the aisle with, the father of her son, or the stepfather? The latter will be walking my mother down the aisle. Please help!!!

Re: Step Parent Protocol
I would say that your FH should walk down the isle with his mother and his biological father.

Re: Step Parent Protocol
I agree. Your fh should be escorted by his biological parents.
ETA - oops...I misunderstood your question. I personally would have your fh's mom walk with your fh's biological father. Even if they aren't on great terms, I'm sure they can s^ck it up for 30 seconds to walk down the aisle together at their sons wedding!

Re: Step Parent Protocol
My FH didn't walk down the aisle with anyone, he was already at the altar. If your FH is walking down the aisle then I would say his parents. But if he is not, the his mother should walk down with her husband, unless her and her ex have a good relationship and want to decide together what to do. My SILs parents are divorced and then still walked in together at the church, reception, and even did the first dance together

Re: Step Parent Protocol
Hi,
I was questioning whether or not my future mother in law should walk down the aisle with her husband or my FH's biological father. Thoughts???

Great, thanks! That's what I thought. Luckily all three of them are the best of friends. I want my FMIL to walk down the aisle with my FH's biological father.

My FMIL and he ex have a great relationship, they are still very close friends. Do you agree that the biological parents should walk down the aisle together?

Re: Step Parent Protocol
we will be having each parent walk with their current partners. I would ask them what they would prefer

I think they should walk down together, unless as the above pointed out they each have significant others then maybe have them walk with them.
Tho I have to say I would have it be his Actual parents

His mother should be escorted by her husband, your FI's stepfather - or, better yet, all three should walk together.

No, I do not ever think divorced parents should be asked to do things like that. Both my parents and my husband's parents are divorced, so we had 4 parent tables and 4 sets of parents walk in. It's just my opinion but I think it's really disrespectful of your FMIL's current husband to have her walk down the aisle with her ex-husband.
