I know what you mean!! my mom is SO hard to shop for! she's picky too. what about a nice pair of gold earrings, maybe pearls? or how about a locket? you should go to Tri County's jewelry exchange, HUGE selection and good prices!

Does she have a favorite store? Perhaps a gift certificate for something you know she likes (whether it be a store, or if she has a hobby, something that relates) would work?
Good luck!

What about maybe a gift cert for a massage...or find out if she goes to a nail/hair place and get her a nice gift cert.

What about a combined gift for your dad and stepmom. Like a engraved picture frame that you can put your wedding photo in, a gift certificate for dinner, etc. Then you can get your dad something extra.

Re: 'steparent' gifts
im getting this for my dad and hmmm maybe ill get her a gc for a salon good idea!!!! thanks girls!!!!!
I had the same issues when I got married. I wanted to get her something, but nothing too special. So I got my dad a nice frame like you and another knic knac and then I got something for both of them. I gave them both a $100 gift certificate for dinner at a really nice restaurant. This way she got something. I also got her a corsage for the day of.
