Sticky Situation re: FH's bachelor party

FH has said on many occassions he's really not into having a bachelor party, but that if he has one, it will be more for his friends to hang out and party.

So this past weekend, I was texting one of my bridesmaids, and she sends me a text saying that she thinks her husband would like to be invited to the bachelor party. FH and I were both doing separate things that day, so the next day, I tell FH this, and he now tells me that there will be a bachelor party, BUT that the only people invited are his three friends from college.

What do I do? I don't want to lie to the friend, but I also don't want to be like, sorry...your husband isn't invited.

I would tell her that he isnt really having a bach party -he is just going out with a couple of his 'close' friends one night. Tell her the truth.

Can you talk to FH and see if he minds including him? Are they close?

definitely tell her the truth.

Besides if he is only going out with 3 other people I don't think that is the type of bach party her husband had in mind anyway. He prob won't mind at all.

First, I think it was rude that she told you her husband wanted to be invited.

Second, just tell her that it's only going to be him and 2 close friends from college. That's all. If she doesn't understand she doesn't understand.

I would just tell her that it's not your party and you have nothing to do with it. That its up to whatever the best man decides(as far as a party/night goes) And that if theres no party or just a night out amongst 3 friends , it was out of your control..
That way it keeps you out of the middle

No....they are not close at all. Friend's husband is more into concerts and the like....while, knowing FH's college friends like I do (I've known them longer than I've known FH), the bach party will involve strippers, and possibly some very, very naughty things....

I mentioned it to another friend, and she was like 'Your FH HAS to invite him, you guys are friends now!'....ugh, not the response I wanted. The way my friends are, I know they will ALL be upset with me if i don't force FH to invite this guy. Honest, I think my friend is pushing the invite because her husband either has no friends or she doesn't like his friends.

Thanks everyone for being so understanding and offering the words of support!

Ita with everyone. Just tell her that he's not really having something that big and he's not extending invites. It's the truth. No need to feel like you are offending her. If the roles were reversed you better believe that most of your friends wouldn't hold back. Jmho
