Still bummed about honeymoons...we don't have one yet
We just don't know where the money will come from and for our time of year they all seem so expensive. I just can't justify spending so much money on a vacation....where can I search online?

we cant really go on one either right now. we might go during the summer when i have off work. You can always take a few days to the grand canyon or niagra falls, or a nice B&B out east. Make a little mini honeymoon! :) and save for something later.

we're going on a mini honeymoon right after the wedding and then on our big honeymoon in july - about 3 months after we're actually getting married! that way we can save a little more money and things wont' be as crazy...might be something to think about...

well, we booked our entire trip thru Expedia.com, flight, hotel etc. We stayed at the Wyndham El Conquistador in Fajardo, Puerto Rico for around $1600. We did have to pay for meals etc, so I'd say it cost us around $2k give or take a little all together. It was great

Fh and I were also thinking of going on the honeymoon a little while after we were married. This way you have more to look forward to after the wedding and can also save up some money. Even if we do deicde to go away shortly after the wedding it would have to be in december (about a month later) since the FH is a teacher and we would go away when he had off for winter break.

We sent my parents to Double Tree Inn and Spa in Newport, RI for about $200 for the weekend. It included 2 1/2 hour massages and was a nice getaway. They walked around Newport and did some sight seeing. There are some mansions (Vanderbelt-I think) up there. It was a nice getaway. Check out Newsday Travel, they have some weekend travel ideas that you can drive too which will save a ton in airfare.

Try Belize or Costa Rica. You can do a package for 4nights from about $500. I know it doesn't include meals but its not that bad. Call a travel agent. Good Luck!
