I did not actually set up an appt. with Danford's when I was looking but I did walk down there and it looked great! I have heard good things. I like their nautical style and they have nice outdoor area for an outdoor ceremony. Any other places you have in mind? Good luck!

vineyards are going to be on the higher end as you have to bring in an outside caterer, and rent all the tables, chairs, etc.
Montauk Yacht Club is nice- on the smaller side so it is more personale
Where are you looking to keep it? Nassau Suffolk?

I love The Historical Thatched Cottage, obviously mine is there. Its right on the water, and the price was perfect for my little budget. I picked Saturday afternoon to keep it low.

Re: still looking
what about the bayview house at captain bills in bayshore?
It's a beautiful, laid-back atmosphere, very reasonable, delicious food, 1 wedding a time, and not very 'catering hall-ish', as its a restaurant too.
FM if you want more details!
good luck with your search

If you are willing to go to Queens, I once went to a wonderful wedding at the Waters Edge in Long Island City. It was a small wedding, only 40 people, very intimate and great views of NYC.
