Still waiting for florist estimate from last tuesday

Still waiting for florist estimate from last tuesday

I went last Tuesday and he told me that he would go home that night and crunch some numbers and mail me the estimate the next day...nothing on Wed. Thurs. or Fri.
So I stopped by Friday and asked him if he has and estimate yet and he said that he is still waiting for one vendor to call him back but he will have his driver drive to my house and put the estimate in my mailbox on Sat.
Nothing in my mailbox sat, sun, mon, tues, or today. Should I give up or call him back again?

I would leave one more message, then start looking at other people.

It depends - were you impressed with the work they do? Did you get a good feeling with the person you met with?

If yes, then you should call them.

If no, then skip it.

IMO, he should have been able to give you a rough idea right then and there and then follow up with a proposal in writing in a reasonable amount of time.

The same thing happened to me with a florist and I just removed their name from my list. I went back to my first choice and I am very happy with my decision.

I waited for an estimate form this guy for about 2 weeks. Well acutally didn't really wait in that time I went to see Jack and Rose and booked him on the spot. When I finally got the estimate i called him and said thanks, but I went with some1 else.
I think you should'nt sit and wait, keep looking and that way you'll have options.

I am kinda having a similar problem. I called Jack and Rose last thursday, the receptionist told me i would get a call to set an appt on monday. I got no call. I called them...got answering machines. He called on Tue but we kept missing each other. I called today and left another message but still no call back. I was fed up but a lot of girls Rave about Jack and Rose so i am going to wait it out. I don't want to loss out on a possible good thing.
Good Luck

I always worry about vendors who don't follow through with the things they say they'll do...If getting you an estimate is this hard for him, how will he be able to handle doing a wedding?

I'm with kathleenmarie - I always got a price while I was there. I think you should try someone else.

i had the same thing happen- forget about them. i finally got the call with the estimate exactly three weeks after the appointment! i dont need someone being three weeks late for the wedding!

Give it up. There are so many wedding florists out there in the wedding vendor market. One week to give quotes/estimate in writing is way too long. Too late this florist lost a potiental bride and groom. It's there loss and your gain, you're free to shop around for better florist with better prices. Quotes and estimates can always change thus it's better to get it in writing which one week is too long to get back to an engaged couple shopping around for wedding florists. It's so very RUDE and professionally inconsiderate with the amount of work to do to plan the most important day of your life that you need to hang around waiting for this one vendor. Why leave an engaged couple hanging in the air waiting for price quote/estimate in writing for a full week?

Give it up. Go elsewhere with your business.

I think it all depends on how your meeting went. Did he amaze you with his ideas and ability to conceptualize your dream wedding OR did he just rush through his list of questions?

I met with my florist (actually a floral decorator, no retail store) and she took a good 3 weeks to get a quote back to me. I knew that she was my woman, so I waited. She sent me a fabulous proposal ... the written details painted such a lovely picture in my mind. She was late with the proposal because she was finishing up her busy sept/oct season.

So my advice is... if you feel comfortable with the person, then give another call. If not, move on.

BTW- I went to a vendor who was listed on the board a few times and they rushed me through their standard list of questions and gave me a quote right there. I felt like it was such a cookie cutter process. He suggested candles (for an outside wedding!!???) and skipped over anything I didn't have the answer to instead of trying to work it out for me. My point is... sometimes these things take a little while. Its not like you went to a photographer with a price list... the flowers are a bit more of a creative process.
