Still working on my programs.....help!!

Im trying to explain 2 customs from my country, plus the unity candle tradition. What do you guys think? Should I also add in a side note to distinguish that the customs are part of my heritage? Should I also include the fact that the items are heirlooms that my parents used for their wedding?

Lasso
As part of the ceremony to symbolize unity, a lasso is placed in a figure eight shape around the necks of the couple after they have exchanged their vows. The loop is symbolic of the love which should bind the couple together everyday as they equally share the responsibility of marriage for the rest of their lives.

13 Coins
Thirteen gold coins are given to the bride by the groom. The coins represent all his possessions that he is entrusting her for safekeeping. The bride accepts the coins, symbolizing that she takes the responsibility. The 13 coins represents Christ and his 12 apostles. The coins are blessed by the priest and holds good wishes for prosperity.

Unity Candle
Two candles representing two families are lit before the ceremony begins. After their vows have been exchanged, the bride and groom take a candle and light the unity candle together. The unity candle symbolizes the unification of two families and two hearts and so two people become one.

I think those are great - I would definitely mention that you are using some of your parent's items - it's a nice sentimental touch. If I were a guest I would like knowing that detail.

I think it would be great for you to have toward the front when someone opens the program an area marked ' Traditions'. Then you could list them and describe. If you'd can, get pictures from your parents wedding day of them going through these traditions...that could tie in the heirloom part without having to explicitly state it.
