stir fry

anyone have a good way to make stir fry? i havent made it in a long time and i forget what sauce you sautee everything in.
just terrayki? or is it other stuff too?

I take chicken, cut it up into strips, season it with salt and pepper, cut onions and peppers into strips and put a bit of olive oil into a wok. thrown in the chicken first, cook it half way, then add the other vegetables and instead of using teriyaki I add balsamic vinegar .. a lot so that it gets soaked into the chicken and vegetables. SO GOOD! HTH

This sounds DELICIOUS!!!!! I loooooooooove balsamic!

For Stir Fry, I've used Tamari sauce, it's like a more tasty Soy Sauce. You can get a low sodium one too and that's even better (those sauces can be soooo salty!).

You can also use Worcestershire sauce with the terriyaki and/or soy sauce.

this thread makes me want to register for a wok

i put garlic and onions with evoo in, then the chicken in, then add carrots, snow peas, peppers and baby corn

then for the sauce i use soy sauce, chicken broth, and some corn starch to thicken it

but im about to lose my mind because i just realized i dont know where my wok is????????????? i checked my registry and it was bought... i know my BMs got me all my pots for my shower gift, but i dont ever remember putting it away!?!?!?!

1st time i cut up beef.. cooked it. then in a wok with olive oil i put in a frozen pack of stir fry veggies.. cooked those then threw in the beef and opened a jar of szechuan sauce ( we like super spicy food)


2nd time, i didnt have any sauce so i used hawaiian marinade lol.. it tasted decent


at walmart yesterday i bought stir fry sauce .. let u knwo how that goes lol

im going to ive u a bottle of Fhs hot sauce that he makes.. should be ready in about 6 months.

i think so, i think it has a rooster on it. its got a green cap haha

When I make stir fry I try to marinate the chicken overnight (in strips) it really helps with the flavors. I usually marinate with some salt and sugar then soy sauce. We hardly ever use pepper unless it's a pepper centric dish.
Usually I will just throw in whatever veggies I have in the fridge. But the favorites are Baby Bella mushrooms, vidala onions, peppers and celery (cut however you want).

Cook chicken first to get funk off.
Heat up pan, 'saute' the chicken a little bit just so it's barely done and no longer pink on the outside.

Heat up your wok (if not I would use a medium size pot bc of oil splatter) a bit then put in olive oil (my mom always uses corn when I was younger but EVOO is so much healthier). Take a couple cloves of garlic (depending on how much you love it!) smush it and let it saute in the oil till it's browned.
Then throw in your veggies, stir around, put in some salt and sugar, soy sauce, cover and let cook for about 3-5 minutes, depending on how thick your veggies are cut.
When your veggies are about al dente put in your chicken, season with a bit more salt & sugar and soy sauce. Throw in some oyster sauce (or teriyaki, hoison, etc etc). I would also throw in chili garlic sauce because we love spice!

And serve over a bed of steamed white rice, my favorite is Jasmine rice!

The hot sauce with the green cap is probably Siracha.

I drink that stuff!
