Stony Brook Holiday Inn

Speaking of holiday inns (earlier post)...has anyone been to this one? Reviews? I blocked out rooms and got quoted for 159 a night, and Im already hearing complaints about the price. What am I supposed to do?
The only thing Im pissed about is that theres no shuttle.

my mom goes there every night (belongs to the pool there) the hotel is nice...it has a decent lobby size and i hear the 3rd floor has another lobby...which is good for pics (if you will even be there)
yes but no shuttle...the only 1 that does is the 1 on exit 56 but again the location of the hotel botherd me and the lobby was a shoe box!!

don't worry too much about the hotel price. A fleabag motel on LI costs $100/night! The only thing I can suggest is renting out a B&B somewhere.... it may bring it down to $125....

After discovering how expsensive decent hotels are, I gave up on finding more reasonable accommodations for my guests. Sigh.....

The hotel is nice since it is redone...but I did not have a good experience.....look at mine and Kittythestray's review.

I actually got a better price at Danfords... and my guests loved staying in Port Jeff...

I just got quoted $129 a night at the Radisson off exit 63 - there's one review of it on this board that I could ind and it was positive - no shuttle ether though.

I stayed there for my cousin's wedding this past August. It wasn't horrible, I don't remember thinking that the place was bad. (Unfourtunately, traveling for work I have certainly stayed at worse!) But for some reason I think it was only $135 a night with her held rooms.

Don't stress about it!

We are booked at Holiday Inn Express Stony Brook the week after you, and after seeing these 2 reviews I am going to call the person we booked with and tell her about these concerns. Makes me nervous too.

Danfords was more (189) in June, but the Radisson is also nice for 139, and I think the lobby is nicer too but HI was closer to my daughter's hall and they have a breakfast room we can use. We suggested to guests they might want to research less expensive options.

Good luck!

if its the one on 347 we stayed there after a wedding last year & the price was a little cheaper i dont remember how much though & they had a shuttle to & from reception & hotel & the shuttle was from the hotel...i would def, inquire about that...they even had one of the conference rooms & breakfast set up & we were aloowed to chill in it after wedding..they may have paid for shuttle & room not really sure...but def. worth looking into.

the rooms were nice & clean too....
