I'm having the same problem with my Dad and FFIL! My Dad wants to invite cousins I've never heard of before and FFIL wants to invite kids!

i really feel like blowing up and saying 'alright, pay for there spots!'

FH and I are tapped out. And I'm sorry, I'm not cutting back my friends for relatives I don't know. Annoying as all hell.

you guys are wayyyyyy too nice. We told the parents we're giving them x amount of people and all the people on this list are A listers they'd invite. anyone else above x amount will be paid by them...no exceptions.

we're rude that way. lol

I can't do it. I told FH to handle it. My parents haven't given me problems about this.

FMIL isn't my problem, FH is....and he refuses to contribute to the wedding, well....actually we can't cus we're both broke, so he's like your mom has to pay....and I told him they're his friends, his parents have contributed NOTHING (and I wouldn't mind, but they have a couple of mil in the bank ) so they can pay the $150 or so for each of his three extra friends.

My mom was nice at the end and let me make the decision....thank mom

Its YOUR wedding, they already had theirs!
