First Waldbaums stopped their Doubling of $1 coupons (as of last week)
and now my SIL found out at S&S that they too are stopping the same thing as of this weekend.
They only double 99cents and under, which basically means 75c coupons and under.
I hope they lose ALOT of business

Is that all Waldbaums? I found out when I went to the one near me on Sunday. And now S&S too? W T F ? That's messed up.
Do you know what stores still accept double coupons?

My S&S is stopping 1$ doubles on Monday But, I heard that Waldbaums may be going back in a few weeks after their triple coupon promotion is over...lets keep our fingers crossed!

Anna, that's what I posted about last weekend, I noticed at the S&S by me that, but I figured it must be all of them that will stop the $1 doubling. I have to say that it was frustrating for me to go in to the store to get an item that was on sale and that I had a coupon for to find out that they were out of it on a Sunday.
It seems that EVERYONE was doing this, I saw so many people with coupons in their hands looking for the same items as me. They would run out of things way too quickly and everyone was asking for a rain check. I wonder if it's b/c they are loosing money, or because they are annoyed that they have no stock on the sale/coupons items.

Is that new for Pathmark? The one near me has only doubled up to 50 cents, so I rarely shop there - plus they are always out of stock.

Heather- PAthmark doesnt double past fifty cents! they never did
ugh, this makes me mad!!! King Kullen is so expensive I hardly ever shop there and I am sure they will stop it soon as well

i hope the manufacturers take note and start making $.99 off coupons instead of the $1!! i would rather have the $1.98 off than just the $1.

My SIL buys coupons for pennies from websites or ebay for her triple stores! This is crazy. We NEED to write letters.
I find that the annoying thing is that now the manufacturers who are putting out the $1 coupons are increasing the quantity you have to purchase. I guess to make up for the grocery stores doubling the coupon. So now I have these '$1 off if you buy 2 or 3' that are worth squat!

where do you find all these coupons? the ones i see in the weekend paper are for products i rarely buy.

I dnot think any other store by me doubles $1.
Shoprite, King Kullen, Pathmark, I dont think any of them do. (does KK??)
I am REALLY annoyed. and susan I Agree, the purchasing of 2 or 3 doesnt make it worth it anymore... (However sometimes I try to use it with buying just one, and some cashiers never even notice )

I think that is crazy. I dont think all of them are not going to double the coupons. I wish they where going to double them. I am not going to be shopping there that much now.

Does anyone know...is it the product manufacturers pulling the strings behind the scenes? If it's not, they'll start making 99 cent coupons, no?
Until that happens - whether they care of not, the supermarkets will lose some of my business. I can already buy eggs and milk cheaper at Eckerd, to name one. Where's my incentive to do all my shopping at the supermarket for products I can buy elsewhere? ie, sometimes I buy the baby wipes at Waldies or S&S b/c with the $1.00 off coupon, $5.99 is now $3.99. Walmart sells the same wipies for $4.97 and with the $.100 off there, they are $3.97 so why should I give my business to the supermarket?
This is BS! I go shopping every week and spend plenty of money - even with my coupons and sale list in hand.
eta: skew - I get the best coupons in the Newsday Sunday paper but I hunt for them everywhere.
