story time anyone? how did you meet your FH, and how did he propose??

I know we've done this before... but its so slow today! and there are some newbies on here that haven't shared yet.


so.. how did you meet your FH? (and when?) when did you start dating? when, where and how did he propose...
basically, give us the WHOLE story

we met on vacation at a nerd-festival (essentially) on martha's vineyard in the summer of 2006. we were a couple a year later and dated 2.5 years before he proposed right before we started thanksgiving dinner @ my family's house last november.

We met in college. I took a feminist writer's course because I was in the middle of an angry riot grrrl stage and he took it to 'meet chicks'. We met in January '02 but didn't start dating until October '04. We were both dating other people at the time and I kept him at arm's length because I didn't want to be disloyal to the guy I had been dating at the time.

I'm glad we didn't pursue each other more than we did at the time...we were both young and had a lot of growing up to do.

He proposed a few days before Christmas in 2008. We went to Florida to spent Christmas with my family. We all went down to Key West on a day trip; he proposed in a butterfly and nature conservatory in front of my family. By asking me if he could...get a new engine for the Dart. I made him ask me fo' realz before I said yes.

The Dart is currently getting a new engine.
